Research axes
• Study of the polymorphisms of xenobiotic detoxification genes in order to better understand the molecular bases of the “environment-genetics-cancer” interaction. • Study of the impact of environmental factors (environmental and professional pollution) in the susceptibility to the appearance of these multi-etiological cancers • Explore the richness of endemic medicinal plants in bioactive molecules and evaluate their cytotoxic effects on cancer cell lines • Explore the richness of large crops in bioactive molecules and evaluate their cytotoxic effects on cancer cell lines • Valorization and conservation of geo-bio-resources • Water, Environment and climate change • Biological and Nutritional Valorization of Plant and Animal Resources… • Biotechnology and Environmental Microbiology: isolation and selection of microbial strains (bacteria, fungi, algae, etc.) producing bioactive molecules, as well as trying to use microorganisms and their metabolites (primary and secondary) for uses in fields: agricultural, animal nutrition, environment and therapeutics. On the other hand, the directions of this team also concern the molecular mechanisms of microbial resistance to antimicrobials. •Sustainable management of groundwater and surface water resources; •Sustainable soil management and conservation; • Management of natural risks linked to water and soil, mainly soil erosion and floods; • Ecosystem management which relies mainly on water and soil.
