Abbas Laghrour |title university
The University of Khenchela bears the name of the mujahid and the martyr Abbas Laghrour. Abbas Laghrour was born on June 23, 1926, in the commune of Nasseigha, in the city of Khenchela, Algeria. He continued his studies at the French school and obtained a certificate of primary studies. He learned in the Quranic school where he memorized the Holy Qur’an, and was able to obtain the primary certificate. The martyr joined the Algerian People’s Party early in 1946, following the May 8 massacres, which gave a strong impetus to the national movement.
